Setup

Get set up in Chrome

Takes a few minutes once. Your Claude API key stays on your device.

  1. Subscribe and get your license key

Choose monthly or annual billing on the site. After Stripe checkout, check your email for the license key.

    • Use the same email you will enter in the extension — one account per email.
    • Keep the license key somewhere safe until step 3.

  2. Add Upwork Wizz to Chrome

Install from the Chrome Web Store and pin the extension to your toolbar for quick access.

    • Click the puzzle icon in Chrome → pin **Upwork Wizz**.
    • Open the popup once to confirm it loads.

  3. Activate your license in the setup wizard

Open the extension → **Setup** (or the first-run wizard). Enter the email from checkout and your license key, then validate.

    • Email and key must match your subscription.
    • After success, the license fields lock — use **Change email or license key** only if you need to fix a typo.

Tip: Re-open Setup anytime from the extension menu if you skipped a step.

  4. Paste your Claude API key

In Setup → **Claude**, add an Anthropic API key. You pay Anthropic directly; Wizz does not mark up usage.

    • Create a key at console.anthropic.com if you do not have one.
    • The key is stored in Chrome on your machine only.

  5. Optional: connect GitHub

Link GitHub in Setup so proposals can reference real repos from your profile.

    • Skip if you prefer manual portfolio links.
    • You can connect later from extension Settings.
On Upwork

On every job and apply page

Wizz runs on the Upwork tab you already have open — no separate dashboard.

  1. Open a job you want to pursue

Browse Find Work as usual. When you open a job post or the **Apply** page, the Wizz panel appears on the right.

    • Use client intel before spending a Connect.
    • The co-pilot does not apply or send for you — you stay in control.
  2. Score the client before you apply

Traffic-light scoring and signals (payment history, hire rate, spend) help you skip bad posts early.

    • Green — generally safer to invest a Connect.
    • Amber / red — read signals before you proceed.

  3. Generate Application — four tailored variants

On the apply page, open **Generate Application**. Wizz drafts four angles from the brief and your profile.

    • Pick the variant closest to your voice, then edit on the real Upwork form.
    • Adjust estimate / economics if you use fixed-price overrides.

  4. Preview every line, then send yourself

Nothing submits automatically. Read the cover letter on Upwork, tweak wording, and click Upwork’s submit when it sounds like you.

    • Clients reward proof you read the brief — not generic AI openings.
    • Use **Fill** to paste into the form, then edit before send.

Tip: Co-pilot, not autopilot: speed without spray-and-pray.

Share & reply

Proposal pages and messages

Stand out with a link clients can forward internally, and reply faster in threads.

  1. Publish a proposal landing page (optional)

From the panel, publish scope, phases, deliverables, and your letter to a shareable page — on upworkwizz.com or your custom domain.

    • Paste the link in your cover letter so hiring managers can share internally.
    • Subscribers can connect a custom subdomain in Settings.

  2. AI Reply in message threads

On Upwork **Messages**, open **AI Reply**. Choose Short, Medium, or Detailed — the draft reads the full thread.

    • Edit the draft, then insert when ready.
    • Same BYOK Claude key as proposals.
