These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Upwork Wizz Chrome extension, website at www.upworkwizz.com, proposal landing pages, and related services (collectively, the “Service”) operated by Upwork Wizz (“we”, “us”, or “our”).
By signing up (including the Free Plan), starting a paid subscription or trial, installing the extension, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Upwork Wizz is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Upwork Global Inc. You are solely responsible for complying with Upwork's Terms of Service, community guidelines, and any applicable laws when using our tools on the Upwork platform.
You acknowledge that third-party platforms may change policies or interpret automation tools differently. Use the Service at your own discretion and risk.
Upwork Wizz is software that assists freelancers with drafting proposals, scoring clients, building landing pages, and related workflows. You remain in control of which jobs you pursue, which proposals you send, and what content you submit. The Service does not guarantee interviews, hires, or earnings.
AI-generated content is provided as a draft. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving anything before submission to clients or Upwork.
The Service is offered under different plans. Features, limits, and billing depend on which plan applies to your account. Plan details on our website at /subscribe are incorporated into these Terms by reference.
The Free Plan is a no-charge tier that provides limited access to the Service. Unless we state otherwise in writing, the Free Plan currently includes:
The Free Plan is provided at our discretion, may be modified or discontinued at any time with reasonable notice on the website, and does not create any entitlement to future free access or pricing.
Paid subscriptions ($20/month or $200/year) provide full access to paid features, unlimited proposal runs (subject to fair use and your own Anthropic API usage), and are billed through Stripe as described in Section 4.
New paid subscribers may be offered a 7-day free trial through Stripe checkout. Trial terms (duration, billing start, and cancellation) are shown at checkout and governed by Stripe's checkout flow in addition to these Terms.
Each email address may hold one license key and one account in our system. You may not create duplicate accounts using different emails to obtain additional Free Plan allowances, trial access, or paid benefits. If you sign up again with an email that already has an account, we may resend your existing license key rather than issue a new account.
To protect the Free Plan from abuse, Free Plan accounts are bound to one installation of the Chrome extension on one device at a time. When you first validate a Free Plan license in the extension, we record a one-way hash derived from a persistent install identifier generated and stored locally in Chrome (not your hardware MAC address). You may not use the same Free Plan license on a second device or browser profile unless we reset the binding or you upgrade to a paid subscription.
You may upgrade by subscribing at /subscribe using the same email address as your Free Plan account. Your existing license key typically remains valid; your account status changes to paid and device binding no longer applies. You must add your own Anthropic API key for AI generation on paid plans.
Free Plan: proposal generation uses our hosted AI service. Your prompts and job context are sent to our backend for processing. Usage counts against your monthly run limit.
Paid plans: proposal generation uses your own Anthropic API key configured in the extension. You pay Anthropic directly for API usage. We do not mark up API costs. You are responsible for securing your API key and monitoring your Anthropic account.
Each account includes a license key tied to your registered email. Keys are for your personal or business use only and must not be shared, resold, sublicensed, or redistributed. We may suspend or revoke keys used in violation of these Terms, including abuse of Free Plan limits or device binding rules.
You agree not to:
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION. FREE PLAN ACCESS IS OFFERED WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY OF CONTINUED AVAILABILITY OR SPECIFIC RUN ALLOCATION.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, CONNECTS, REPUTATION, OR DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) FIFTY US DOLLARS (US$50). IF YOU USE ONLY THE FREE PLAN AND PAID US NOTHING, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO US$50 TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service, including Free Plan accounts, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, abused plan limits, or posed a security or fraud risk. You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the extension and cancelling any paid subscription through Stripe.
We may update these Terms from time to time, including Free Plan limits and eligibility rules. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
